History :
Kasauli up till the 1700’s was under the territory of the Rajputs, the Thakur of Beija ruled over these lands, thereafter it came under the Gorkha Suzerainty until they were expelled by the Sikhs of the Malwa with considerable aid from the British, thus becoming a part of the Cis-Satluj states under the Patiala Riasat. In the year 1842 the area came under the direct protectorate and control of the British and was later developed into a charming town and cantonment to escape the warm & humid climate of the adjoining plains.
