- Old Kasauli Road :
- It is a H.P. state link road which connects Kasauli via Parwanoo, Jangeshu, Manaon & Mashobra. The road is a narrow hill road & gets a little bumpy on certain stretches, yet it is relatively safer than the NH – 22 since it has lesser traffic. It is safe to travel even at night & it’s a great mountain driving experience; even for an inexperienced driver!
Perquisites :
- Drive slowly at the speeds between 30-40km/hr Max.
- Honk or use dipper at night on curves and turns.
- Keep to your side.
- Thumb rule: It is the right of way for the vehicle climbing up.
- Enjoy the picturesque scenery of the thickly wooded hills & the towering mountain backdrops.
FACT :
This road was one of the greatest engineering fete of the British in this part of the country, back then it was the main road to get to the British stations of Simla, Kasauli, Dagshai, Sabatu etc & was a part of the Old Hindustan – Tibet Road therefore it has been given a heritage protection status by the H.P. Govt.

Chandigarh – Kasauli via Old Kasauli Road = 58KM (aprox.); 10Km (aprox.) shorter from NH-22.
